New hardware works very well.These are ok except for the fact that you’ll need to spend a lot of time addressing the sharp edges on every single corner before they can be safely used. I mean, this is manufacturing 101; the part isn’t finished until it’s deburred. For the price they really could have done a better job.This is not an item easily found in local hardware or big box stores. It's a high quality, well built piece. A magnet applied to it suggests its a good grade of stainless steel (little to no magnetic attraction).NOTE. The supplied fasteners/flathead wood screws are not stainless steel, so if you were going to install this hardware in a corrosion prone area, consider substituting stainless steel fasteners.Had to purchase these because my daughter is sleep walking and needed a lock up high. Does the job perfectly.NICE FOR THE PRICEIt functions OK but finish is poor. I had file and sand edges before it can be used.It solved my randomly opening desk drawerEasy to secure or open with this latch!
