My bedroom door wouldn't even shut all the way, which meant I couldn't lock it either. Unless, I stuck something in between the door and the door jam at the bottom of the door and shut it slowly... then sometimes it would latch shut. I decided that maybe it just needed a new door handle and I was right. After taking the old one off I realized that it was bent weird which was probably the cause of it. It is also an old door jam that looks like its been messed with a few times over the years. My next step would have been a lot more work because I would have had to replace the wood or try puttying the holes to see if I could re-do the screws.I did have a little bit of trouble installing it. I'm not sure that it is because of the door handle itself or if it's just because I've never really had any experience doing it. I couldn't get it to work right at first but then noticed that I didnt have the handles lined up right for the long piece that goes through. Once I took it off again and realized it though it was very easy to put on and everything worked just fine. I still didnt think it would shut but it shuts everytime now without any problems. (It also locks)I love how it has the handle to turn rather than a round knob. If my hands are full I can always use my elbow to open it which makes life easier. It just feels good. It is definetly good quality. It comes with 3 keys and they have no problem turning or anything. I would highly recommend this door handle. I'm very glad I decided to get it and try it out to fix my door problem.
